This painting was inspired by a walk along Granite Creek in Prescott, AZ. It was fall day with the trees displaying lovely yellow leaves that were only slightly parted by a small trail of branches. The quote I felt was most fitting for the scene is as follows: "The tide recedes but leaves behind sea shells on the sand; The sun goes down, but gentle warmth still lingers on the land; The music stops, and yet it echoes on in sweet refrains...For every joy that passes, something beautiful remains." by Hardin Marshell. This painting is a combination of traditional calligraphy and the words doing their meaning, i.e. leaves and sky. Thanks for looking.

This was not fun and slowly I worked back to my roots as a painter only this time using those magical sound symbols which make up our speech.� Receiving her MFA from the University of Wyoming and then working in advertising Sid Freeman became enamored with calligraphy.
