This painting is quite different than my other paintings. Since college I have thought about cubism and never really believed that cubism was about cubes. Oh, yes, some of the post cubists made it about cubes even minimalism and they made a big impact too. But the early ones, Picasso, Braque and Gris were doing these painting around the time Einstein was talking relativity and time. I think they were effected by Einstein and the way time effects memory. You only need a piece of memory to bring it back to you where and when. So a portion of anything will do, like find faces in clouds. And for me that memory changes each time. So, I added Gibran to the mix and his quotation, “Remembrance (eek! spelled wrong, sorry) is a form of meeting”. Hope you can find the word: bottle. I would love to hear what you think.
