Music takes you away and on a voyage. The words in this watercolor contain the seven elements of music; they are harmony, timber, dynamics, texture, melody, rhythm, and form. And of course, music. The score here is a Jewish Folk Song in B flat which I have always liked when I played the recorder. The solid spaces are an effort to give the eye/ear a resting place, perhaps a bit of silence. In my effort to tap the joy of playing a musical instrument, I discovered that I was tone deaf and had no sense of timing. So the recorder brought me back to visual work and it’s a hopefully a better world for it. Enjoy!
