A friend named this piece 'Circus' for it’s color and festive design; I find her to be right but, also this piece, in this 2016 election season is a political statement to me. The black line, yes, the black line, there is only one, could be many things. It could be a party line, a line of word bites or the line which we all should follow; a line of reconciliation and compromise. The “pro” and “con” words appear insolation, but it is the line which funnels them together. What do you see in this painting? For me, I never really know how it will turn out. Many of my works have taught me new ways of viewing my own ideas. It is my hope that each painting will have it’s own conversation with you as well.

Lettering Art by Sid Freeman �After 20 years as a professional calligrapher, I found myself competing with the computer. This was not fun and slowly I worked back to my roots as a painter only this time using those magical sound symbols which make up our speech.� Receiving her MFA from the University of Wyoming and then working in advertising Sid Freeman became enamored with calligraphy. With the help of the Wyoming Arts Council grant money she began to study with many incredible professionals as well as taking workshops from the Colorado Calligraphers� Guild.
