I was inspired by an interesting piece of jewelry, which I finally bought. The beautiful necklace was made by Patty Hoisch. It contains a silver lantern with a crack on it’s underside and two feathers one on each side. The flame from the lantern represents human insight or mind and the feathers are a symbol of protection for the mind. I have noticed that we are in a society which persons of great integrity and strong belief systems will perhaps accidentally become very judgmental. This is sad to me and because they are not protecting their own lantern light. And so, the words I have used here are: integrity and ego. I had fun using watercolor and pencil here. I love drawing because it’s the first media we use to begin seeing light rather than things.
