This is a important piece for me. Instead of the words illustrating the image, the image is illustrating the words. The word dream was written over and over in a oval, slowly becoming smaller. With a lot of luck I found the head within.
About Sid Freeman
Lettering Art by Sid Freeman �After 20 years as a professional calligrapher, I found myself competing with the computer. This was not fun and slowly I worked back to my roots as a painter only this time using those magical sound symbols which make up our speech.� Receiving her MFA from the University of Wyoming and then working in advertising Sid Freeman became enamored with calligraphy. With the help of the Wyoming Arts Council grant money she began to study with many incredible professionals as well as taking workshops from the Colorado Calligraphers� Guild. Hi Roy, I don't know when you posted this, but I sure do thank you for looking. This one had more to do with luck than anything. I was just goofing around and began to see a face. Then I worked at it. Lettering is used so much as illustration - It's nice to stumble on the reverse. Maybe because it was out of my hands..Is what dreaming is all about anyway. I really like the drama in your work - you are teaching me. Take care, Sid
