Thank you for your comment. It is taking me a while how to understand this site, but I'm learning. The texture on this piece is symbolic of the energy of atoms to me. Sometimes (I know it's not true) I feel like I can see the individual atoms dancing when the light is low.

Artist's Description

This painting has two quotes. The first one is from The Tao of Physics by Fritjof Capra which reads: "In a theory which combines both quantum & relativity theories, it is not possible to specify the position of individual particles precisely. If this is done, as in field theory, one has to put up with mathematical inconsistencies which are, indeed, the main problem in all quantum field theories...Such a theory of subatomeic particles reflects the impossibility of separating the scientific observer from the observed phenomena...It implies, ultimately, that the structures and phenomena we observe in nature are nothing but creations of our measuring and categorizing mind." The second quote in from the Anishinable Indians - "What the people believe is true". The line structure in the piece is a relativity model, where as the equalaterial triangle & circle structure is from a quantum model.

About Sid Freeman

Sid Freeman

Lettering Art by Sid Freeman After 20 years as a professional calligrapher, I found myself competing with the computer. This was not fun and slowly I worked back to my roots as a painter only this time using those magical sound symbols which make up our speech. Receiving her MFA from the University of Wyoming and then working in advertising Sid Freeman became enamored with calligraphy. With the help of the Wyoming Arts Council grant money she began to study with many incredible professionals as well as taking workshops from the Colorado Calligraphers Guild. In 1987 she became self employed and enjoyed doing great jobs like the Wyoming Governors Awards and Federal Marshals Proclamations. In 1993 she and her husband,...
