Artist's Description

I love the show “Sunday Morning” on CBS and in fact it is where I saw my one and only cousin for the first time; that is, other than his high school picture which he sent to our grandmother. So after doing the painting “But, What a Ride” with a sun in it, I decided to give a solo sun a try and also try to submit it to the TV show. Well, here it is, but I don’t seem to know how to submit it. Can you help me? Regardless of having a second exposure on the small screen the idea turned out to be an interesting challenge and that is: how do you move the eye around a perfectly centered subject matter. I don’t know if I was successful at that, but I may have found a new can of worms to play with. The words in this painting are: sky, light, heat and pull. I would love it if you could voice (type) your opinion, even if you think that you might have offended me. Thanks.

Lettering Art by Sid Freeman �After 20 years as a professional calligrapher, I found myself competing with the computer. This was not fun and slowly I worked back to my roots as a painter only this time using those magical sound symbols which make up our speech.� Receiving her MFA from the University of Wyoming and then working in advertising Sid Freeman became enamored with calligraphy. With the help of the Wyoming Arts Council grant money she began to study with many incredible professionals as well as taking workshops from the Colorado Calligraphers� Guild. In 1987 she became self employed and enjoyed doing great jobs like the Wyoming Governor�s Awards and Federal Marshal�s Proclamations. In 1993 she and her husband,...
